Pastor Notes…
Hi all. I have been attending the LCMC Annual Gathering near Minneapolis. It was another good year. Let’s see what is happening at church:
– Food Pantry – The Food Pantry is looking for egg cartons and empty plastic grocery bags. If you have any, you can drop them off at the Food Pantry on Main Street. Thanks!
–Thanks! – Thanks to Rick and Mark M. for covering preaching while I was gone!
– Update – Bonnie’s kneecap surgery went well, but she is dealing with some pain. Please pray for her continued recovery.
– Back in office – I’m back in the office this Thursday (10/9)
– Drive-Thru Prayer – Drive-Thru Prayer is this Thursday (10/9). Bonnie will be out, so we will need all of the help we can get.
– Dry Bar Comedy – Dry Bar Comedy is coming back to Utah – Oct. 17th at a church in Grantsville – $15 a piece – for more info – https://store.drybarcomedy.com/products/fri-oct-17th-7pm-seth-tippetts?variant=46848202801387
– Pledging Time – We will have another speaker about tithing this Sunday. We will have another speaker next Sunday, and then Sunday, October 26th, is Consecration Sunday, when we will dedicate our pledges and celebrate with a dinner here at church. Kevin Christen is our Pledge Drive Chairman this year and will also be coordinating the celebration dinner.
– Council Meeting – The next Council meeting is October 12th, after church service.
– GriefShare – We are looking at starting another GriefShare class/support group sometime in November, if you know anyone who is struggling with grief. Diane and I will be co-facilitating this group. For more info, contact Pastor Traci at 801-577-4100.
– Looking ahead – Next Wednesday Night Warm-up at the Methodist Church is on October 29th. Please be thinking about what dish you might be able to bring.
—Taco Tuesdays – Taco Tuesdays continue each Tuesday at 5:30 pm at ‘Bout Time Pub on Main Street. Come for some good food and fellowship!
–Bible Studies –
Sunday 9 am – We will resume 2nd Samuel
Tuesday 7 pm – Pr Rick is leading a study on Bagger Vance at his home
Monday 11 am – Pr Rick leads a study on the week’s Scripture readings at Harris in the gym
That’s it for now. This Sunday, we will be hearing about the ten lepers that Jesus healed. I hope to see you at church.
Blessings,
Pastor Traci
