Pastor Notes… (1st newsletter)
Hi all. Snow is finally coming this week! Unfortunately, that is bringing a lot of wind with it. I hope everyone’s houses and yards are okay. Let’s see what is happening at church.
Ash Wednesday – Ash Wednesday service is tomorrow at 7:00 pm. It looks like the snow/rain should be stopped by then. I hope you can join us. No potluck this night, it starts next week.
Lent Wednesdays – On Wednesday evenings starting on Feb. 25 (next week), we will have a potluck meal starting at 6:15 pm, followed by our Lenten service starting at 7:00 pm. I hope you can join us. This is a good time to take a break from the busy world and focus on all that Jesus has done for us.
Drive-Thru Prayer – This THURSDAY is Drive-Thru prayer. If you can wave a sign or join in the prayer for others, that would be great!
-HVAC Committee – If you are on the HVAC committee, please attend a meeting of this group on March 1st after church service. Thanks!
– March 21/22 – Brodie Taphorn will bewith us from LCMC for a Church Council program and preaching on Sunday! The Council program is Saturday from 10-12, followed by lunch.
– April 3rd – Good Friday service
-April 5th – Easter Sunday!
-May 30th – LCMC Intermountain West District Annual Gathering at Good Shepherd in Sandy
-Taco Tuesdays – These are still happening on Tuesdays at 5:30 pm at ‘Bout Time on Main Street! Come for the food and fellowship!
Bible studies:
-Sunday 9 am – wrapping up the study of 1st Kings with Pr Traci
-Monday 11 am – Pr Rick leads a study of the week’s assigned Scripture verses at Harris Village in the gym
-Tuesday at 7 pm – the Bible study at Rick and Bonnie’s home is on hold during Lent and will resume with a new topic after Easter
I think that’s it for now. On Wednesday evening, we wil be talking about what Lent means to Lutherans, and on Sunday, the Gospel reading is about Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness. I hope to see you at church!
Blessings,
Pastor Traci
2nd newletter post
HI all. I hope that you can join us for Ash Wednesday this evening at 7:00pm at church. The weather is supposed to move through later this afternoon, so we should be good. A couple more things:
-We have some songs for this Sunday that you may not have heard in a while. Here are links to listen to them:
-Lord I Need You https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciJ1BtGfyHA&list=RDciJ1BtGfyHA&start_radio=1
-We fall down
I hope that helps with following along on Sunday.
Be safe out there
Blessing,
Pastor Traci
